In early 2020, Thunderkick announced the Beat the Beast video slot series, dedicated to legendary creatures from myths and legends of various nations. In each of them, players will need to give battle to terrible creatures endowed with enormous power and supernatural abilities.
The first of these is the Kraken’s Lair slot machine. Its protagonist is the kraken, a sea monster told about by medieval Icelandic fishermen. It was described as a cephalopod mollusk of gigantic proportions, capable of dragging a large ship to the bottom of the ocean with its tentacles.
Behind the drums you can see a deep-sea landscape with shipwrecks and rock peaks. The background is animated. Note the air bubbles rising to the surface and other elements. The game is played to ominous music, as if warning of danger.
Gameplay and Paylines
There are five reels and nine paylines in Beat the Beast: Kraken’s Lair where you can form paying chains of symbols.
Bet is taken on a spin. Its size determines the client, choosing from a range of ten cents to one hundred euros. Fourteen possible values.
In the slot machine “Kraken’s Lair” presents the basic picture, a joker-scatter, freespins with prize features and additional bonus options.
Payouts are awarded for multiple identical icons lining up from left to right on active lines. The minimum number of elements is two or three, which depends on the type of symbol. There can be more than one combination per spin, but always the maximum variant on each strip is taken into account.

Special Symbols
The reels of the video slot “Kraken’s Den” shows the main character, the octopus, a chest of coins, amulet, trident, ten and the colored letters J, Q, K and A. Symbols of the same type can fall out one after the other in vertical strips.
The special icon is the only one:
• Wild/Scatter (the golden kraken emblem) is both a joker and a scatter. It replaces any other picture in the paid and free spins. It brings winnings by forming combinations from left to right or by appearing in any position on the screen. A minimum of three emblems anywhere on the field triggers the freespins. In addition, the logo is used in the Expanding Win Feature.
Bonus games
There is no themed prize game, but bonus features are available:
• Expanding Win – This option is activated if a paying combination is formed involving a Kraken. One of the symbols can occupy adjacent cells. The kraken never expands. New winning chains are formed according to the general rules.
